Wharf Cottage Leisure Park is a beautiful leisure park near Garstang, neighbouring The Smithy. Open eleven months per year, it is a haven for those who crave peace and quiet, combined with the convenience of local shops, pubs and transport links within a short distance. The park is a small community consisting of just 21 homes.
Garstang lies on the River Wyre, River Calder and the Lancaster Canal, on the eastern edge of the Fylde Coast with the Forest of Bowland to the east. The town has had regular success in the Small Town Category of the Britain in Bloom competition. Garstang also featured in Peter Kay’s Phoenix Nights.
An arts festival and an agricultural show take place every year in August. The UK’s largest wind turbine was built in 2011, to provide power for, the diary producing the award-winning Garstang Blue cheese. The town is well served by public houses and restaurants as well as a golf club and Country Hotel and the Crofter’s Hotel, on the main A6 road.
